As a beginner, you will want to advertise your website using Google programs. One way to advertise your website is to “sign up” with the Google Adsense program to have Google Ad Search Boxes on your site.  Google will then place ads on your site that match the content you have on your website.  For instance, if your site is about fishing, Google might place ads for a sporting goods store or a fishing rod manufacturer on your site. This type of advertising generates a lot of traffic to your website.

The enrollment process is simple:

*  Fill out an application
*  Submit it to Google and wait for approval (up to a week)
*  After approval...login and set up your account preferences
*  Write your ad using Google's step-by-step method
