1.  Write a statement that declares the purpose for your website.  It does not have to be a lengthy statement, but you should know why you want your website to exist.  Is the purpose of the website to sell your product or services?  Is the purpose of the site to display your art work; to provide information about a specific subject; to promote a specific cause; to entertain...what?

Most websites are for the purpose of promoting a business, product, or service; and that is what we will mostly focus on in this step-by-step tutorial, "Introduction To Creating Websites For Beginners". The same steps for creating a website pertain to any site. Do not skip this step…it may not seem important to you to decide who your audience is...but, if you do not know who they are, you will not know what to say to them.

Your communication will be awkward, in the same way your communication is awkward with a complete stranger. If you do not know who is likely to visit your site and why they will visit your site, you will not be able to appeal to them and reach your goals for the site.

2.
